Chemchek provides optional on-site and factory service for its KPA instruments. Chemchek's staff is available by telephone, fax and email for prompt technical support from this page.
Preventative Maintenance Program

Overview

Chemchek offers a comprehensive factory or on-site preventive maintenance program. The KPA is thoroughly inspected and cleaned. Optics are replaced, if necessary, and realigned. Other worn or damaged parts are replaced and note made of any potential future problems. The plasma cartridge is tested and replaced, if necessary.

1. Optimization of KPA
Qualified Chemchek technical staff inspects and optimizes KPA.
A thorough working knowledge of the KPA and its expected performance aids our technical staff in the optimization of each KPA serviced.

2. Knowledge of KPA
The comprehensive inspection and testing of the KPA not only locates any problems and corrects them, but also probable potential problems. These problems are ones that could occur within the next year. They are noted and the customer is notified. The customer is therefore aware and not taken by surprise should the problem occur.

3. KPA Service History Maintained
Records of previous service on each KPA are maintained. This enables our technical staff to know each instrument and its idiosyncrasies.  Therefore each KPA is finely tuned to its optimal capabilities.

Extended Warranty Program

Overview

Chemchek offers an extended warranty plan for KPAs currently under warranty or if desired, after having a complete preventive maintenance performed on the KPA. The extended warranty plan can be either on-site or at our factory.

1. KPA maintenance
Scheduled preventive maintenance service during the year insures that the KPA is maintained in optimal condition. Service history allows our technical staff to take into consideration each KPA and its individual idiosyncrasies.

2. Response time
On-site emergency calls generate a response time of less than two working days.

3. Parts covered
All non-consumable KPA parts are covered under the extended warranty. Our qualified technical staff can often recognize potential part failure and replace that part prior to failure saving potential down time and/or loss of data.

Installation and Training

Overview

Chemchek offers installation and a brief user training for each KPA sold. A comprehensive two-day training seminar is given annually in  Richland, WA by our technical staff.

Details

1. Installation of KPA
Chemchek will install any KPA and strongly recommends installation of the automatic option. Our technical staff will install, test, and optimize the operation of the KPA in its future working environment.

2. User training at installation
The new KPA user receives training prior to using the KPA for the first time thereby gaining an understanding of how the KPA operates.

3. Annual training seminar
Chemchek technical staff present information and conduct hands-on workshops to familiarize users and technicians with KPA operation.  Among the information covered is troubleshooting the instrument if a problem does occur.

Software for the KPA

Software for all variations of the KPA is available for Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT computer operating systems. The minimum computer configuration required is:

  • IBM compatible computer with mouse (Pentium or compatible)
  • Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME or NT, Version 4 (service pack 3 or above)
  • 64 MB Ram / 1.2 GB HD
  • Video adapter with 2MB RAM
  • two serial ports, 16550 compatible
  • The Automatic KPA and the Continuous KPA, which use the Gilson Sample Changer, require an extra serial port .

Software version

The most current software version is - KPAWin© Version 1.2.8
